Is there a Logan Paul problem?

It has been over a week since the internet blew up over Logan Paul's infamous video. But has anything been learnt or is it just a simple bump in the road for YouTube's biggest star.

Let's give some context for those who aren't quite with it. At the start of the year, professional missing T-shirter, Logan Paul, with his gnarly band of misfits visited what is simply referred to as 'Suicide Forest' in Japan. Whilst clearly having the time of their lives there, they came across a man who was hanging among the trees.

Now, where the normal human being would stop filming and leave, Logan Paul decided that this was going to be great YouTube content for all the kids who look up to him and didn't turn the cameras off. Instead he continued by making jokes about the deceased man - but it's fine because he did a heroic speech about how suicide isn't the answer.

Eventually, Logan Paul took the video down and issued a video apology, which was more heartfelt than his attempted Twitter one. He did genuinely look sorry and disgusted in his own actions - "don't defend my actions" - but the jury is out if it was just a good act or not. Plainly put, the video below should have been his initial apology.

Moving on from Logan Paul's actions, his career has hardly been affected. More like it's been given a healthy shunt that shifted him from the straight pathway he was on.

Prior to his video going globally rather than within his own fandom, the video - suitably titled "We found a dead body in the Japanese Suicide Forest..." - had 6.4 million views, which included nearly 500,000 likes! Which means there are a bunch of fans who thought this kind of thing was the norm and - I quote - "the craziest and most real video" ever uploaded; leaving it uncontested.

It then hit the extended internet community, which is when it hit a MASSIVE backlash! Tweets from celebrities and the watching public alike have been less than kind towards Mr. Paul.

YouTube can't avoid any blame on this shambles. At one point, Logan Paul's video was in the TOP TRENDING VIDEOS! Which means that someone in YouTube HQ saw the thumbnail, which already showed you the victim, and then proceeded to watch the video and deemed it acceptable to move onto a list for the world to see.

YouTube have only today began to cut ties with Logan Paul, leaving projects such as The Thinning 2 in jeopardy. But it could be argued that YouTube are only reacting to how the rest of the world saw the video. Whether they were just asleep on the job or one slipped through their fingers, that kind of slip up can't happen again.

With Logan Paul though, if you have seen any of his other videos, it seems that something of this magnitude was just around the corner.

A video has been doing the rounds on Twitter which best sums this up, but it's fair to say that his Japan trip hasn't gone down particularly well. In his first 'Japanese Adventure' video, Logan Paul states that he needs to "respect the culture" - and the proceeds to use the next few videos to show how to do every but that... From throwing Pokemon balls at people to throwing raw fish around.

Ultimately, I've never been a fan of Logan Paul, all the way back when he made it big on Vine (R.I.P), but the last week or so have unfortunately reinforced my thoughts on the (amazingly) not biggest asshole of the Paul brothers - just as people were trying to get me into watching him...
